Eat in Atlanta — 04 June 2013
Sample two Midtown Atlanta restaurants in one evening.

By Hope S. Philbrick

By locating two of their restaurants in the same building, Communitas Hospitality Owners Sean and Gilbert Yeremyan make it easy to enjoy a progressive dinner in Midtown Atlanta, Georgia.

In fact, Gilbert’s Café & Bar and 10th & Piedmont aren’t merely located on the same corner, they’re connected. So if it’s pouring rain outside, you can slip from one to the other without getting wet.

This may make it sound like they’re really just two different dining rooms sharing one kitchen. But the menus as well as the dining room décor and vibe are very individual. Each distinct destination satisfies, so if you prefer to dine at one table per evening just pick a restaurant and then switch it up the next visit. (Then repeat as often as cravings demand.)

But for foodies who love to explore and feast, the opportunity to sample two menus so conveniently in one evening may prove irresistible.

Follow our lead and start with a cocktail and a selection (or two) from the seasonally inspired small plates at 10th & Piedmont. Then head to Gilbert’s Café & Bar and choose an entrée from the Mediterranean-focused menu. Or vice-versa. Flip a coin to decide where you’ll order dessert. You can’t lose either way.

Menu favorites at 10th & Piedmont include lamb meatballs, shrimp & scallop nachos and goat cheese crispies. At Gilbert’s Café & Bar, don’t miss the seafood paella or lamb shank. Owner Sean Yeremyan admits that the chocolate souffle with creme anglaise is his favorite dessert; one bite and you’ll become a fan, too.

Bottom Line: Both restaurants consistently impress with high-quality food, great service and welcoming atmospheres.
