Simply, wow.
Discover this high-tech luxury boutique hotel in Deerfield Beach, Florida.

Ask any of my friends: I rarely email toilet movies.

I recently broke that “never done that” streak and sent a short video of one of the two equally impressive toilets in my suite at Royal Blues Hotel to a select group of friends along with a disclaimer promising that the porcelain was pristine-clean and that I’d kept my pants on throughout filming.

Because this is one fantastic toilet that you really almost have to see to believe.

I’ve stayed in a lot of high-end hotels in lots of places around the world and I’ve never seen anything like it.

From a touch-screen within reach of the seat, you can set the under-bowl light to any color in the rainbow, adjust the seat temp to as warm as you dare, tune in to the radio, have warm air blown at your feet, and a range of other options I’d never imagined. The toilet can be set to remember multiple user preferences—in case you’re sharing the suite and its two bathrooms—and, perhaps best of all, it even cleans itself. (See the video on Instagram @21plusTravel.)

The toilet is just one of the many state-of-the-art, high-tech features in the guestroom. I felt like I needed a special degree to safely operate some of the stuff.

Want to open the drapes to enjoy the ocean view? Touch a button.

Want to precisely set the temperature of the water in the stone shower? Touch a button.

Want to soak in the luxurious bathtub and gaze at the ocean? Or would you prefer privacy? Touch a button and the glass wall behind the huge tub is either clear or opaque.

There’s more, of course. But I’ll save some surprises for you to discover.

My stay at the Royal Blues Hotel was, hands-down, without parallel, the best hotel experience I’ve ever had (so far), and I’ve stayed in lots of fantastic hotels. Royal Blues Hotel awes not only thanks to its technological surprises.

I was impressed as soon as I parked in the adjacent lot. A uniformed man strolled up to my car and greeted me by name. How did he know me? Though the hotel has 12 rooms, I was the only guest scheduled that particular weekday evening.

As he carried my luggage and escorted me into the lobby, I noticed the Relais & Châteaux sign on the wall and knew I was in good hands.

While checking in, I was offered a glass of Champagne. Clearly, these people get me.

Staff members never failed to impress me with their sincere kindness, thoughtfulness and helpfulness. They made me feel like I was a princess who had the castle to myself for the night. What’s more, every employee I met seemed as thrilled as I was with the innate wonderfulness of the place.

As the hostess gave me a tour of my guestroom and its features, she shared in my delight with each discovery. There’s no shame in showing childish glee here.

Guestrooms are super clean, uber-upscale, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped. Ocean and beach views are the proverbial icing on the cake—yes, here the nature that’s typically a main draw actually takes a backseat to the hotel itself. While the public spaces are equally impressive, you won’t want to leave the wonder of your guestroom…except to eat at Chanson Restaurant.
