Cancun is Mexico’s No. 1 tourist destination. It wasn’t always: Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula could only be reached by sea until a road, rail system and eventually airports were constructed in the mid-20th Century. Tourists quickly discovered the beauty of the region and the particular uniqueness of the semi-tropical east coast in Mexico’s state of Quintana Roo. In 1969, the Mexican government began developing a designated resort area in what was a relatively deserted section known for its consistent weather, white coral beaches and Caribbean waters that are seven distinct shades of blue. The area, Cancun, was divided into two zones, Cancun City and a 15-mile Hotel Zone.

The Excellence Group Luxury Hotels and Resorts complex is located just a few miles from Aeropuerto de Cancun on a private, breathtakingly-landscaped boulevard that integrates seamlessly with the lavish foliage of the adjacent jungle wetlands wildlife preserve. The Beloved Playa Mujeres Boutique Resort blends harmoniously with its setting and the Caribbean Sea backdrop.

Beloved beach

Beloved, a five-star adults-only boutique all-inclusive resort is the area’s most romantic destination. There are 109 luxurious guestrooms with designer linens, Bvlgary toiletries, Jacuzzi, minibar and 24-hour room service. No room is smaller than 800-sq. ft. The property boasts four restaurants, four bars, three swimming pools, a 304-ft. Caribbean beachfront, plus a selection of water-based activities and land excursions.

Beloved provides a romantic and intimate experience plus an unprecedented level of service with its ratio of three service providers per guest.

Be loved at BelovedOne of the most unique amenities ensures total privacy even when you order room service. To deliver your order, the waiter unlocks an XBox on the room exterior and places your menu items inside. You then access the box from the interior and remove items without any loss of privacy.

A 35,000-sq. ft. Spa & Wellness Center offers a menu of treatment and beauty options (including couples massages) as well as pre- and post-spa services that blend traditional and modern techniques. Every session begins with a foot massage and hydrotherapy experience. The signature hydrothermal therapies that are taken in the Agua Viva facility include the crystal steam Hammam, Roman Caldarium and Swedish Sauna. Each guest is assigned a personal thermal valet and treatments end with champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries served by a valet while you recline on a heated chaise lounge.

Beloved provides a stunning setting and the staff will take care of all the details.

Because of its location, Beloved is able to offer unique experiences and opportunities to get immersed in the culture and spirit of Mexico. Excursions to nearby sites can be arranged to experience traditional culture and the modern Caribbean lifestyle. There are several day-trips to notable destinations including Mayan ruins, cenotes and the fifth-largest barrier reef in the world. More than 2,500 ruins of varying sizes exist in the region. Seventeen of the ruins have been restored including Chichen Itzá, Cobá and Tulum. Two of the sites have been designated “Wonders of the New World.”

To obtain a comprehensive crash course on Mexican history and culture, visit Xcaret Mexico, an immersive cultural theme park. Plan to spend the day and be prepared to participate in activities including swimming in an underground river and lounging in a hammock. A highlight of the day is “Xcaret Mexico Espectacular,” a musical trip through history.

The adults-only boutique Excellence Group Luxury Hotel & Resorts’ Beloved Playa Mujeres is a luxurious must when visiting Cancun. Specials are available online, rates are seasonal and you’ll be “living your life like it’s golden.”
