Buckhead Massage Company

Second location now open at Hyatt Atlanta Perimeter at Villa Christina.

The folks who work at the new second location of The Buckhead Massage Company, located at the ground level of the new Hyatt Atlanta Perimeter at Villa Christina, have uncommon enthusiasm for their jobs. They don’t just like their workplace, they love it.

“I hope to work here forever!” said one therapist while giving my husband and me a facility tour on the first day the spa was officially open for business (Saturday, August 23, 2014).

Of course, whenever I’m at a spa the “I hope this never ends!” feeling is common, but for an employee to feel that same way is remarkable.

“It would be great to give outdoor treatments!” the therapist agreed when I shared my daydream. “But it wouldn’t be private; any hotel guest is welcome to explore the grounds and could walk right by.”

No worries. Once you’re face-down on a table, it doesn’t really matter what views might have been. The three private treatment rooms here are superb: The massage tables feel more like cushy beds and are dressed in sheets you’ll wish you could take home; products waft pleasing aromas; and the soundtrack is mesmerizing.

Most crucially, therapists’ skilled hands work magic to melt stress. Since these are some of the happiest hands in Atlanta, good karma flows.

Buckhead Massage Company offers signature massages, facial treatments and body treatments (with rates starting at $63). In separate rooms with different therapists, my husband and I each had an hour-long Swedish Massage ($112) and both left feeling much more refreshed and rejuvenated than we had upon arrival. (A couples’ room is available if you and your sweetie prefer to spa in tandem.)

The company was founded in 2000 with the mission to provide top-quality spa services. Among its many accolades: “Best Massage Therapy” by Talk of the Town and Citysearch’s “Top 10 Best” for Massage: sports, therapeutic, couples and deep tissue, for five consecutive years.

Though this new location may be most convenient for hotel guests, anyone may book an appointment. (Note that only one of the treatment rooms has a shower, so request that room if you’re not staying at the hotel and expect to clean up afterwards.)

Fair warning: Once here, you won’t want to leave.

Fortunately, you don’t have to: Just book a stay at Hyatt Atlanta Perimeter at Villa Christina. Or at least plan a return visit.
