IBEROSTAR focuses on guests’ whole well-being.

By Chris Chamberlain

I’m a big fan of all-inclusive resorts and cruises.

When I’m on vacation, as opposed to the frequent travel I do for my job, I don’t want to think about much of anything. I don’t want to be digging in my pocket to pay for every bite or sip and I don’t want to spend my time worrying about how big my final bill will be at check-out because of all the add-ons I racked up during my stay.

This is a legitimate issue for me: I remember the steward on a two-week cruise apologizing that he might have to knock on my door the final night because he wouldn’t be able to slide the bar bill under the door.

I’ll admit that I do worry about one thing when taking these sorts of vacations: overindulgence.

As much as I enjoy the indulgences, there is a lingering concern that I need to at least keep up with my regular exercise regimen. While most resorts have decent fitness facilities, volleyball in the pool is the most rigorous activity that I engage in.

That’s why I was intrigued to read about a new program from the IBEROSTAR group of hotels and resorts. Already known for its upscale four and five-star all-inclusive resorts, IBEROSTAR has made the commitment to address the total well-being of guests through an initiative called Fit & Fun.

Available at IBEROSTAR resorts in Mexico, Jamaica and Dominican Republic, Fit & Fun encourages guests to stay active while on vacation and to create awareness about the importance of exercising for a healthy and happier lifestyle. In addition to access to professional trainers and state-of-the-art equipment, the program offers fun classes for all type of guests, from those who work out every day and those who don’t. The offerings include Zumba, aqua fitness, sunset yoga, TRX, kickboxing and more.

Life is too short to feel guilty while on vacation, and if IBEROSTAR is willing to go the extra mile to make sure we can have a great time while burning off some of those all-inclusive calories, I’m all in! For my next vacation, you can bet I’ll be checking out IBEROSTAR in some warm weather destination. If you need more convincing or inspiration, check out this video for a peek at what Fit & Fun is about.
