The award-winning Kaleidoscope Burger traps multiple Southern classic flavors in a bun: a grilled beef patty is topped with pimento cheese, slaw, green tomato chow chow and bread-and-butter pickles. The results are love at first bite.
Even if you don’t think you like pimento cheese, slaw, green tomato chow chow and bread-and-butter pickles, try it anyway. It’s that good.
The total is greater than the sum of its parts. I don’t even know what award this Kaleidoscope Burger won, but it was well deserved.
As any great burger should, this one arrives with a side of fries. But which type? The menu boasts several varieties: pub fries (made with duck fat and served with mayonnaise), poutine (topped with cheese curds, gravy, bacon and scallions), and frites (garlic parmesan fries) to name just a few. “The fries that accompany any of our burgers are better than the fries at McDonald’s,” promised our server.
Fair warning: Once you’ve had a Kaleidoscope Burger, you’ll find yourself craving another one. Often.
@21plusTravel Tip: This dish sparks an idea that may resolve a congested pantry if, like us, while traveling you often pick up mason jars of local concoctions at roadside markets but then can’t figure out what to do with the stuff once you’re home. Try piling them onto a burger!
