Bliss in Albemarle County, Virginia.

Appreciate wine? Like getting rubbed the right way? Here’s a chance to combine to two.
The Keswick Reserve package at Keswick Club Spa is a luxurious spa experience that drenches your body with wine- and grape- products inside and out.
You may arrive feeling as twisted as a grapevine, but you’ll leave as relaxed as liquid lingering in a barrel.
After check-in at the spa—the clubhouse in which it’s located also houses a fitness center and several meeting rooms—you’re escorted to a locker room. Once changed into a robe, head to the relaxation room.
The treatment begins as you’re handed a glass of red wine—the good stuff, no skimping here—and allowed sufficient time to leisurely savor it. The wine kick-starts relaxation, as you sink back into a cushy chair and take a sip, but the official word is that the wine is included in the treatment “to introduce polyphenols to the body internally.”
Whatever. It’s yummy.
The marathon treatment includes a grape seed oil massage followed by a Shiraz body scrub, red wine body mask, Pinot Noir facial with mask, and Shiraz face and body smoother. “This is an anti-aging treatment,” is the claim, “a vineyard-inspired regimen that allows the body to reap the benefits of the red wine grapes and its by-products. This regimen infuses the body with free radical-busting antioxidants and anti-aging polyphenols.”
I can’t verify the scientific claims. But if eating well, exercising and going to the doctor was this enjoyable, we’d all be a whole lot healthier.
This decadent vineyard-inspired package lasts over four hours.
Though it’s definitely worth the time, if you prefer a briefer indulgence a variety of massage, facial and body treatments is available ranging from 30 to 90 minutes.
Whatever option you choose, it’s an experience to savor.
