Escole des Trois Ponts specializes in short-term French language immersion courses for adults; some classes combine French language with cooking instruction.

French immersion courses are offered in general, intensive, private and holiday formats for all skill levels. During select weeks, hands-on cooking classes with our in-house chef take place in the afternoons, as guests learn to create French culinary specialties. Students dine on the starter course, main dish and dessert that they have prepared, conversing in a relaxed and sociable atmosphere with an instructor. Weeks dedicated to French Language & Pastry-Making and French Language & Chocolate-Making are offered each season with Chef Alain Berne, who has achieved the distinction of Meilleur Ouvrier de France.

Newly renovated in 2009, the Villa Beaulieu is a 19th centurycountry house in the community of Riorges, adjacent to the town of Roanne. Nine new guestrooms surround a peaceful,central garden in a quiet residential area close to patisseries, cafes andparks. We also offer home stay family.

ecole-des-trois-ponts_pastry-class-02Prices for week-long French language and cooking courses begin at 1240 euros per person per week and include small-group class instruction and accommodation.We offer courses from 1 to 4 weeks. Buffet breakfast and lunches, and group dinners with wine and a selection of cheeses are included in the program price. Single rooms and private one-on-one courses are available for a supplemental fee.

The Ecole des Trois Ponts was created in 1991 by RenĂ© Dorel as a way to share the beauty of French culture with others. The name itself, literally translated as “School of the Three Bridges,” was meant to represent the bridges among cultures. Since then, the Ecole has welcomed guests from more than 30 countries.

Located near Beaujolais and Burgundy, the Ecole is well situated for those wishing to explore the gastronomic bounty of the region. Group itineraries in cooking and gastronomy, wine and gastronomy, and French and gastronomy may also be arranged.
