Music to Your Mouth, one of the country’s most popular food and music weekends, proudly announces the 2015 event, taking place November 19 – 22. This year, organizers are hyper-focused on the celebration of place and people while providing guests with the best food, drinks, and music from across the South. Translation? New events, new talent, and a new presentation.

Music to Your Mouth“The changes behind this year’s event really came from us taking a step back and saying, ‘What are our goals? What do we want to be known for?’” says Courtney Hampson, Director of Marketing and Partnerships for Crescent Communities, Palmetto Bluff’s parent company. “Sure, we throw a good party, but we also want our guests to take away something more meaningful from our events. Sincere, personal interactions among guests, chefs, vintners, artisans, and musicians have put us on the map. We want to celebrate that. ”

In planning for 2015, organizers opted to forgo the traditional tasting tent and other large-format events in favor of what they call salons, small events in intimate settings where guests can engage directly with chefs and other personalities. The salon format allows for the exploration of ideas that would have been impossible with the festival’s old format, including oyster harvesting, vegetable preserving, and cocktail culture. Guests will have access to featured dishes while gaining insight into the processes and thoughts behind those dishes. Each of this year’s events will uncover the places, processes, and ingredients that make Southern food so intriguing and delicious.

Developed nearly a decade ago, Music to Your Mouth creates opportunities for people to experience the stories that surround food, and forge bonds over shared meals. Both guests and participants recognize MTYM as one of the year’s top food and music experiences. Guest talent for 2015 includes chefs Sean Brock (Husk, Nashville), Ashley Christensen (Poole’s Diner, Raleigh), Spike Gjerde (Woodberry Kitchen, Baltimore), Mike Lata (The Ordinary, Charleston), Andy Ticer and Michael Hudman (Andrew Michael Italian Kitchen, Memphis), sommelier Steven Grubbs (Empire State South, Atlanta), and mixologist Tiffanie Barriere (One Flew South, Atlanta).
