While humans around the world were sheltering in place for the coronavirus pandemic, the environment started to heal. If you missed the social media posts sharing photos of clear skies in parts of the world that hadn’t seen that shade of blue for far too long, look them up! Now seems like the time to keep that environmental momentum going, so we leapt at the opportunity to sample shampoo and conditioner by Bottle None.

Bottle None was created by 2 sisters

The Claim: “Take a stand and change the buy-and-throw-away mentality of the beauty industry. Bottle None is a growing sustainable beauty brand created by two sisters whose nourishing and easy-to-use natural bar shampoos and conditioners are plastic packaging free.

“‘Traditional shampoos and conditioners are 80+% water, which requires a bottle and all sorts of added thickeners and preservatives,’ says Bottle None co-founder Jaye Siegmueller. ‘When you nix the water you get more for your money, fewer chemicals, and less packaging guilt.’

“Each of their luscious bars has no extra water to weigh down their formula, and no unnecessary plastic bottles to weigh down the world. From travel to your own home shower experience, Bottle None will have your ditching traditional heavy plastic bottles for good!

“Bottle None shampoo and conditioner bar highlights:

  • PH Balanced
  • Salon Grade
  • Lasts for 50+ washes
  • Each bar replaces 2-3 bottles of shampoo
  • Formulated with natural extracts and oils
  • No harsh surfactants, sulphates, artificial fragrance, phthalates, formaldehyde, and more
  • Convenient Travel Case and Soap Dish makes it easy to take on the road

“Bottle None stands for quality, integrity, and love with a vision for a plastic free beauty future.”

Product Tested: I was a bit skeptical about solid bar shampoo. But one wash was all it took to become a believer. My “be YOU” shampoo bar got sudsy with ease whether lathered up in my hands or directly in my hair. This version boasts a fresh lemony aroma—which lingers and my husband says smells nice—and gets my hair squeaky clean even after several days of neglect (because, quarantine). The conditioner was just as easy to use: warm it up in hot water then massage the bar down the strands of hair avoiding the roots.

The travel case and soap dish help keep them dry for maximum lifespan plus make them easy to transport.

Final Analysis: Bottle None is a budget-friendly, earth-friendly beauty solution.
