Feed your fantasy and live out your rock star dreams at Rock ‘N’ Taco in downtown Roswell, Georgia.
With a soundtrack of what my dad would call “head banging music,” what my husband calls “rock,” the volume cranked up to 11, the inside of the new location of the relocated Buckhead favorite has two bars that flank each side of the main eating area and a stage overlooking the whole place. On Wednesday night karaoke, you can leap onto that stage, grab a mike, and sing your heart out.
The state-of-the-art audio and video system makes the restaurant one of Roswell’s best-sounding live venues. The restaurant’s original location served as a springboard for local singer-songwriters who have gone on to compete on NBC’s “The Voice” and ABC’s “American Idol,” and this new space—three times the size of the former location—features equipment offering bands the option to capture live sets on video to share with fans.
Sports fans have reason to love the new location, too. The restaurant boasts a huge 9 x 13-foot screen and 28 additional televisions.
“We’re thrilled to open Rock ‘N’ Taco in its new location in time for football fans to enjoy the rest of the season in a space that is triple the size of the old restaurant,” said co-owner Brad Hancock in press materials. “We’re also rolling out some new menu items to give guests even more variety, including some healthier options.”
Dishes feature fresh ingredients, including organic fruits and vegetables. The new menu offers more salads, tacos, Tex Mex entrée offerings, and new cocktails, including:
- The Rocker salad: mixed greens, goat cheese, smoked gouda, cheddar, tomato, sweet onions, avocado, cucumbers, and spicy cabbage ($10.50), with the option to add steak ($4) chicken ($3) or shrimp ($4)
- Eye of the Tiger taco: blackened shrimp, mango chutney, red citrus slaw and lettuce ($3.95)
- The Hulk taco: fried avocado, lettuce, pico and roasted cherry tomato topped with sweet onion remoulade ($3.95)
- The RNT burger: certified angus beef, chipotle remoulade, white cheddar, bacon, tomato, onion and lettuce served with tortilla chips and salsa ($10)
The Green Day: Miller’s Gin, cucumber, pineapple juice, homemade sour and simple syrup ($11)
Personal favorites include the Tinga taco ($3.95) which tucks shredded chicken cooked in tomato and sautéed onions into a soft shell with lettuce, pico, and jack cheese; the Cali taco ($4.95) which pairs seared mahi mahi with black bean corn salsa, lettuce, and chile remoulade; and the Pink Cadillac margarita ($11) made with Mi campo tequila, pomegranate liqueur, agave, and fresh lime juice.
Rock ‘N’ Taco will host special events, like the 10-week Original Music Series featuring 10-15 bands per night. Each band will battle in a bracket-style competition on the restaurant’s large stage, culminating in a semifinal round with prizes. Check out the restaurant’s website and social media channels for details.
