When you see a line of people waiting to get into a restaurant, your cost/benefit analysis function kicks into high gear: Is it really worth the wait?
At White Duck Taco Shop, located in the funky River Arts District of Asheville, North Carolina, the answer is yes.
Any amount of time that you spend waiting in line is a very small price to pay, a fact confirmed with each bite.
The menu is, as the name suggests, dominated by tacos and is a successful merger of fresh ingredients, culinary creativity and affordable prices. Start with chips and salsa or queso, then feast on a combination of tacos. Bangkok shrimp, lamb gyro, Thai peanut chicken and duck with mole are just four mouthwatering options. Sides like green chile black beans and Southwest corn chowder are sure to fill in any gaps. Desserts like Mexican chocolate pot du crème and coconut macaroon pie impress.
You may feel so satisfied by the meal that you will want to linger at the table, chatting with the new friends you made while waiting in that line. But don’t dilly-dally too long: Other people need the table. So invite your new friends to one of the local breweries nearby.
